Future Plans

Leek Cricket Club still has ambitions to develop a second ground adjacent to its present ground at Highfield.

In particular, this new facility is aimed at providing top class playing facilities for our 3rd XI and junior teams from U9's to U15's (including the girls team), as well as users from the wider community.

The project will cost in excess of £350,000 to acquire the land and then develop it into a cricket ground with all facilities.

The potential benefits of any proposed development will include:

• Attracting and enabling more youngsters to play cricket
• Providing much needed, good standard facilities for junior teams, girls teams and a proposed over 45's XI
• Providing health and fitness benefits to all those involved and to the wider community
• Maintaining and increasing our opportunities to work in partnership with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and the South Moorlands Cricket Development Group in hosting community (including schools) sports programmes
• Maintaining the high profile and success of cricket in the Staffordshire Moorlands area
